Highlighting the Big Help Out on Ashdown Radio
Our friends at Ashdown radio were speaking to our manager Judith again this week, spreading the word about the national campaign taking place on the weekend of the coronation. On the 8th of May, there is an initiative across the country encouraging people to volunteer in their local communities, and we’ll take any chance we can to promote the fantastic causes in our area!
One of those worthwhile causes mentioned was the Repair Cafe, hosted by Sussex Support Services at Victoria Pavilion. Run by volunteers with an array of handy skills, they fix and mend a variety of items which can be repaired, rather than people simply throw them out. Currently they’re looking for a few more individuals to assist, particularly with roles such as anyone good with electrical devices. To see more, please visit the advert here.
Another mentioned is the Uckfield and District Preservation Society, who are on the lookout for more shop assistants. Again you can view the advert here.
And finally AGE UK’s position of Telephone check-in volunteer, acting as the first step in helping individuals find the right service AGE UK provide to ensure they get the assistance they require. Their advert is here.
If you’d like to listen to Judith’s interview you can hear it on Ashdown Radio’s website: Judith Austin – East Sussex Today – Ashdown Radio
Our thanks as always to Ashdown Radio.
