Computer Help at Home Volunteer – Association of Carers
About this organisation
Established in 1987, The Association of Carers provides free, volunteer-led support services to unpaid carers in East Sussex.
About this opportunity
This role involves teaching basic IT skills, and guiding carer’s who aren’t quite as confident at using a computer and/or the internet through the actions they require. This can be online shopping or banking, using a program to call over the internet, helping to set up an NHS online account or maybe email address.
It’s suitable for anyone who has a decent grasp of IT, but is also a good communicator who is patient and understanding.
This will take place at the carer’s home, and will usually last for two hours each session for up to six weeks.
A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.
