Volunteer Driver – Association of Carers
About this organisation
Established in 1987, The Association of Carers provides free, volunteer-led support services to unpaid carers in East Sussex.
About this opportunity
Volunteer Drivers assist by transporting both volunteers who can’t drive or don’t have access to a vehicle to the carer’s home and back again, and carer’s to appointments or a day activity.
Any applicants will require their own vehicle and a full clean driver’s license. Having a good knowledge of local roads and routes, and being a good communicator will also benefit anyone in this role.
Volunteers decide the area they can help out in, as well as the hours they are available for.
A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.
