Peer Supporters for New Parents – NCT Parents in Mind
About this organisation
NCT Parents in Mind are a commissioned service that trains peer supporters to offer welcoming and judgemental free spaces for new parents who are struggling with their mental well being and have children under 2. Their volunteers all receive accredited training and all have lived experience of their own challenges on their parenting journeys. They have support session for mums and birthing people, dads and non birthing partners and are also launching an LGBTQIA+ support space.
About this opportunity
They are interested in hearing from parents who know what it feels like to struggle with their mental well being and want to support others. Their next accredited training cohorts begin in April (some daytime and some evening) and are delivered online via Zoom.
They are particularly interested in hearing from mums and birthing people who have weekday morning availability to support a new group in or around Uckfield, from dads, and from parents who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
All volunteers must be parents and aged 18+, reasonable travel expenses paid, an enhanced DBS check will be required (covered by NCT).
