Warm Welcome Helper – Manor Park and Hempstead Fields Residents’ Association
About this organisation
The Association was formed in November 2012. It aims to provide a voice, and represent the views of, the people that live in Manor Park and Hempstead Fields plus the residents of Grants Hill Court, Manor House Court, Shaftesbury Court and Linden Court.
About this opportunity
Warm Welcome is a weekly event open to anyone from Uckfield or the surrounding area, put on by the Resident’s Association. Every Tuesday, they host it at the Luxford Centre in Uckfield (in the Tyler Room), from 11am until 2pm, and it offers a place to gather and socialise, enjoy a drink, play a game or just sit and relax.
2 helpers are needed for each session, and will operate on a rota. Their roles are to make guests feel comfortable, making drinks or snacks, and joining in with the chatter or games where appropriate. This would suit someone sociable who is used to dealing with the public and loves talking to people. With this role you will be helping people who may experience loneliness.
There is free parking in the adjacent car parks, and you will not be required every Tuesday, it is as and when it suits you the volunteer. Applicants will need to be DBS checked, which will be arranged and paid for by the charity.
