School Holiday Activity Volunteer – High Weald Family Hub

High Weald Family Hubs run FREE activities in it’s Family Hub in Uckfield and surrounding towns for families with children under 5. We are also establishing FREE school holiday activities across the area for ages 5 to 11.
About this opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to assist the Family Hub team run school holiday activities for children ages 5 to 11. For example we have Lego themed events planned for February 2025! You will help the team welcome families, engage with the children and parents/carers, assist them when required and help the practical and safe running of the events.
You will not be left alone with children; the parents/carers will remain responsible for the children attending. At present we have venues booked in Uckfield, Heathfield and Crowborough; we may travel to other locations within High Weald such as Forest Row, Horam and Mayfield. You can volunteer to any that are convenient to you date and location wise.
A DBS check, training and induction are required and provided by the Family Hub. Travel expenses can be claimed. Over 18s are preferred however we are happy to consider 16 and 17 year olds if you have the availability for the training, plus documentation for the DBS check. Sessions will take place during the week in school holidays, with start times varying, but usually around 10am and 1pm. Sessions run for 1.5 hours plus the set up and pack away. Start date happens after the induction which occurs as soon as the DBS certificate is through.
