Volunteer Youth Work Assistant for SEND Sessions – Youth Hub East Sussex
About this organisation
The Heathfield youth hub sessions are safe spaces for people aged 11 to 19 (or 8 to 25 with special educational needs).
We have a range of clubs and activities for young people.
All our clubs and activities are LGBTQ+ friendly. We also welcome young people with special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
About this opportunity
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the running of youth sessions for young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). This session occurs once a week and is for young people aged 13 – 19 years old. Each week we complete different activities such as cooking, arts and crafts and sports. We are a safe space for young people to make new friends, seek support and advice and try new things.
You may be someone with previous experience of working with young people, working with people with SEND, or you might be looking to gain a valuable insight into youth work. You may have a skill or profession that you can teach our young people such as woodwork, or you may have some time available where you would like to give back to your local community. Volunteers can be 16+ and will need to complete a DBS check with us. We are looking for volunteers who are eager to make a significant difference to the lives of young people.
