Wealden Volunteering
We promote volunteering, supporting the charities that need volunteers. We also provide office services: laminating, copying, scanning + lots of useful local information. Come in and see us on Uckfield High Street, or at one of our pop-ups.

CHIDDINGLY SHOP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED![]()

This rural village shop is seeking cafe and shop volunteers to assist and serve customers, in Chiddingly’s very relaxed and beautiful setting.![]()

Duties include: ![]()
![]()
- Serving customers![]()
- Completing daily forms![]()
- Preparing simple food![]()
- Making hot drinks using the coffee machine![]()
![]()
Training will be given for all the above, so no experience is required, just the desire to learn and be friendly.![]()
Most volunteers cover 2 to 3 hours per week.![]()

VOLUNTEER CAR DRIVERS SOUGHT![]()

Age Concern Heathfield & District provide a Medical Car Service to take the elderly and disabled to any medically-related appointment.![]()

They now seek drivers to collect clients from their home, take them to their appointments, waiting and bringing them home again. (On occasions you may be asked to escort the client to their appointment).![]()

INDEPENDENT CUSTODY VISITOR ROLE![]()

The Office of the Sussex PCC manages up to 45 dedicated volunteers who undertake vital duties for its Independent Custody Visiting (ICV) scheme.![]()
![]()
Representatives from the community are recruited and appointed on a geographical basis to visit the five police custody centres including Eastbourne and Hastings.![]()
![]()
Unannounced visits are made by pairs of Independent Custody Visitors (ICVs) to check on the treatment & welfare of people held in police custody. After visits, a written report is completed which is then passed onto the ICV Scheme Manager at the Office of the Sussex PCC. ![]()
![]()
ICV recommendations can require the police to make improvements for the welfare of detainees. ![]()
