We provide free hearing aid batteries which are available from our office during our opening hours.

This service is available to anyone who uses an NHS hearing aid and is registered for Audiology Services in Eastbourne. If you do come in for batteries, please bring with you either your issued card, or your brown booklet.

If you require maintenance on your hearing aids, East Sussex Hearing provide a free service on the first Thursday of every month, from 10am until midday. Currently this service is held at the Luxford Centre in Uckfield, with the same requirements of being an NHS hearing aid and registered with the audiology clinic in Eastbourne.

Prior to attending, if you’re having trouble with your hearing aid, try these tips:

  • If your hearing aid has a volume control, make sure this isn’t turned down.
  • If your hearing aid has a loop program, check it isn’t switched on.
  • Make sure the battery is inserted properly.
  • Replace the battery.
  • Check the tubing isn’t blocked with wax. If it is, you can use the cleaning wire to remove it.
  • Check that the tubing isn’t damaged or pinched.

If these steps don’t help, then visit the Thursday maintenance clinic at the Luxford Centre or contact the NHS Audiology Services.

If you need help and our centre is not open please call East Sussex Hearing on 01323 722505.
