Events and Awareness Volunteer – Taylor-Made Dreams

Taylor Made Dreams enables children with life limiting illnesses to achieve their dreams
We will source and financially support therapeutic services alongside their difficult journey and help to leave lasting, precious memories for families to cherish when time together is all far too short.

Our vision is that children with life limiting illnesses will have the opportunity to fulfil their dreams and that we may also provide their families with support from trained therapeutic professionals.

Primarily our aim is to assist in the creation of a unique ‘Wish List’, which is ‘Taylor-Made’ to meet the specific needs and desires of the individual child.

Our objective is to enable children and their families to experience unique quality time and experiences together, which otherwise may not have been possible without financial and emotional support.

There’s no minimum or maximum number of volunteers needed for this role, the more, the merrier.

• Assisting with fundraising events, from idea generation, organisation and help on the day or at the event itself.
What this would involve:

  • Suggesting fun event ideas like a sponsored walk, quiz night, or bake sale
  • Booking venues, contacting suppliers, creating posters or invitations
  • Setting up tables, welcoming guests, managing stalls, or selling raffle tickets on the day

• Providing support to local groups with their fundraising efforts.
What this would involve:

  • Advising a school that wants to do a dress-up day for donations
  • Helping a local business run a coffee morning fundraiser
  • Providing them with banners, leaflets, or donation buckets and showing how to use them

• Act as a representative on behalf of Taylor-Made Dreams at charity or community organised events.
What this would involve:

  • Wearing branded clothes and chatting to people about what Taylor-Made Dreams does
  • Setting up an information stand and answering questions
  • Collecting donations or giving a short talk about the charity’s mission

Time commitment:

There’s no minimum or maximum amount of time you can offer your support to Taylor-Made Dreams.

What you’ll gain from volunteering:

You’ll benefit from having the chance to meet new people from different backgrounds and make new friends. In a safe and supportive environment, you’ll develop new skills and take on new challenges. You’ll feel a huge sense of satisfaction from your meaningful contribution towards the lives of unwell children and their families. You’ll gain experience and develop skills in non-profit management and community engagement.

There are no specific skills or qualities needed to become an event and awareness volunteer. Most important to us at Taylor-Made Dreams is the enthusiasm that our volunteers have for our mission, and the integrity and discretion with which they support our work within the community. Taylor-Made Dreams is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all volunteers and employees.

Taylor-Made Dreams run events on different days of the week, so there’ll be an event to suit everyone’s schedule.
