Volunteer Awards 2021

Last week our Chairman Paul Sparks spoke to Uckfield FM about our organisation, and was delighted to draw attention to our upcoming Volunteer Awards in September.

The awards are our own way of saying a huge thankyou to those who have been selflessly giving their time and energy to help those in need, as nominated by you. If someone has been going above and beyond, providing a much-needed service, or something as simple yet vital as being a companion for someone who otherwise would have found themselves on their own this past year, please don’t hesitate to nominate them!

We’ll be recognising various categories to shine a light on some of the different areas of volunteering.

  • Service to our Community Award
  • Good Neighbour Award
  • Young Volunteer Award (for under 25’s only)
  • Happiest Volunteer Award
  • Volunteer of the Year Award (this is open to our member organisations only)

It doesn’t matter how old the nominee is, they could be an individual or even an organisation who have been going that extra mile and are due some recognition. You can nominate them for multiple categories too if they fit the requirements, e.g. someone under 25 who has been helping out their neighbour.

We have nomination forms in our office at the front desk, or you can fill one out here online: https://wealdenvolunteering.org.uk/about-us/uvc-volunteer-awards-2021/

The closing date is September 15th, with the awards given out as part of our 30th Anniversary celebration of the Uckfield Volunteer Centre on the 30th of September, so there’s plenty of time to get your nominations in, but why wait?

And if you’d like to listen to Paul Sparks’ interview, during which he also spoke about the general work we do at the Volunteer Centre, you can find it here on Uckfield FM’s website: https://www.uckfieldfm.co.uk/2021/audio/paul-sparks-uckfield-volunteer-centre/

We look forward to receiving your nominations!
