Uckfield Hearing Aid Maintenance Volunteer – East Sussex Hearing

Providing support and assistance to individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind in the East Sussex area. They offer a range of services including advice, communication support, and equipment provision to help people overcome the barriers they face due to their hearing loss.

They are seeking volunteers for their Hearing Aid Maintenance service in Uckfield. This is a role which will directly impact the lives of residents, providing assistance in retaining their hearing via keeping their hearing aids in good order.

Volunteers will greet the public, record the assistance provided, check and clean hearing aids, and provide information about hearing loss and how best to care for their hearing aids. This will suit someone who is affable, and happy to take on a variety of tasks.

Travel expenses are paid, and volunteers are welcome to take British Sign Language and lipreading classes for free.

Full training will be provided.

This position will take place usually on weekdays, though weekends may be optional, and is a commitment or 2-20 hours a month.
