Fundraising Volunteers – Civil Aviation Trust

About this organisation
We are a small civil aviation-themed Charity temporarily based at Saxon Nursery, Hankham. We are building a museum to show the history of civil aviation from the 1920’s to today.
Our current projects are transforming the cockpit section of a Jetstream 41 into a flight simulator, and working on our Rolls Royce Dart turbo prop engine from a Herald aircraft.
About this opportunity
We are looking for volunteers to help with fundraising and social activities, by attending events and engaging with the public about the work we do.
Fundraising at events we attend can be in many forms; running a classic tombola, or a raffle for example, but we are open to ideas from volunteers about other methods to generate funds, especially those which engage the public and inspire them to learn about civil aviation history. The more events we are able to attend, the more we can interact with communities and hopefully make ourselves known to other aviation enthusiasts, and encourage people to take an interest in its history.
Volunteer duties will include engaging with guests at local events, explaining our aims and promoting membership with the charity, whilst generating funding through running a fundraising activity.
You can volunteer the hours that suit you, arranging which events you’ll be able to assist with. Due to the nature of the role applicants must be aged 18 or over.
