Explore Wealden

The school summer holidays are upon us, and as the continued opening up of attractions and businesses around the country offers a welcome plethora of choice for how to stay entertained over the coming weeks, Wealden District Council have unveiled their new website making finding that local day out impressively easy.

Replete with stunning photography that does justice to our countryside, the website lists so much to see and do, that should you wish, there’s no need to travel far from home.

Nature reserves, woodlands and forests, down to the coast, vineyards, museums and steam railways, zoos and farms, the science centre, walking and cycling routes all to name just a handful, and of course the history found in the likes of our castles.

Famous writers and artists of the region have their own place on the site for if you’re after someone in particular for a day out, as well as key towns and what they can offer. A list of restaurants and pubs to sort any meal or that catch up drink one evening. Accommodation if you’re travelling into Wealden (along with travel instructions) or perhaps looking for a nearby staycation, camping sites offering the perfect chance to do something different for the summer.

As far as resources go for making a day of it locally, they couldn’t get much better.
