Community Fundraising Volunteer – East Sussex hearing

Providing support and assistance to individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind in the East Sussex area. They offer a range of services including advice, communication support, and equipment provision to help people overcome the barriers they face due to their hearing loss.

A Community Fundraising Volunteer has a variety of tasks in the role. You’ll be attending local events, helping both with the setting up and taking down of stalls, and representing East Sussex Hearing in providing general hearing loss advice, as well as information of the services they provide. During events duties such as bucket collections may take place, but one important duty is beforehand, sourcing and collecting prizes donated by individuals and local organisations for use at stalls.

This role will suit someone who is friendly and engaging, who enjoys meeting new people and taking on a variety of tasks as part of a team. The are looking for a commitment of between 2 and 20 hours a month.

Travel expenses can be claimed, and volunteers are welcome to take British Sign Language and lipreading classes for free.

Full training will be provided. You must be over the age of 16 to apply.
