About this opportunity
East Sussex Hearing are seeking someone to drive their outreach vehicle. This is an important role in spreading awareness of what the charity does and fundraising throughout the communities in East Sussex. The bus is roughly the same size as an NHS ambulance, and you will require a full clean C1 driving license, as well as 2 years experience. Due to insurance reasons, please only persons over the age of 30 apply.
Additionally, you’ll be asked to perform health and safety checks on the vehicle as required, keeping it clean and tidy, assisting members of the public with accessing the services provided, and helping other volunteers to deliver advice.
This role will suit someone who is friendly and engaging, who enjoys meeting new people and taking on a variety of tasks as part of a team. The are looking for a commitment of between 6 and 30 hours a month.
Travel expenses can be claimed, and volunteers are welcome to take British Sign Language and lipreading classes for free.
Full training will be provided for acting as an ambassador for East Sussex hearing.
