Driver for Uckfield/Heathfield/Herstmonceux Area – VIEW craft

Formed in 2004, VIEW Craft run weekly craft sessions for blind and partially sighted individuals. They are based in Herstmonceux and run by volunteers.

We are looking for a driver to take members living in the Uckfield and/or Heathfield areas to our 2 hour craft sessions in Herstmonceux on a Tuesday morning and taking them home again afterwards.

You would need to certify that you will keep your car in a road worthy condition and that your insurance premium covers voluntary driving. It may be necessary to transport members’ walking aids in your car and also, in some circumstances, you might be asked to convey a guide dog as well as its owner.

A DBS check is required for this position.

Milage expenses at 45p a mile can be claimed from door to door.

There is no age limit but you have to be considered fit to drive as per the DVLA guidelines.

Our craft sessions take place 33 weeks out of 52 (we try to keep in line with school holidays) on a Tuesday morning at Herstmonceux Village Hall. The members need to be at the hall for a 10am start and the sessions finish at noon.
