Cricket Outfield Grounds Person – National Trust Sheffield Park and Garden

We protect and care for places so people and nature can thrive. Many millions share the belief that nature, beauty and history are for everyone. So we look after the nation’s coastline, historic sites, countryside and green spaces, ensuring everyone benefits.

With a love of the outdoors, the grounds person will help to maintain our historic Cricket Pitch, keeping it match ready in the Cricket Season and maintaining it during the off season.

Tasks include:

  • Interacting with visiting members of the public, answering queries and questions.
  • Using a ride on mower and pedestrian mower. In-house training will be provided for machines.
  • Developing a good knowledge of Sheffield Park cricket pitch and its history.
  • Being part of a varied and enthusiastic team and making new friends.
  • Helping us deliver our commitment to sustainability.
  • Having the opportunity to get involved in additional tasks, e.g. end of season renovations.

Cost of travel to and from Sheffield Park will be reimbursed. We ask that volunteers can help once a week during the cricket season, with flexible hours for the rest of the year to maintain the pitch.
