Junior Sports Youth Work Volunteer – Heathfield Youth Hub

About this organisation
Heathfield Youth Hub is a free and safe space for young people aged:
9-17 and up to 19 for those with mild to moderate disabilities.
Take part in fun activities, make new friends and learn new skills.
Sometimes young people need a place to go and something to do. We are here to support young people with whatever is on their mind.
All our clubs and activities are LGBTQ+ friendly. There are also specific LGBTQ+ sessions, as well as our Funky Teens group. We also welcome young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About this opportunity
We are looking for sports facilitators to join our volunteer team for either or both of our Junior sessions:
Juniors Yrs 7-8 (11-13) Wednesdays 5:30-7:30pm
Juniors Yrs 5-6 (9-11) Fridays 4:00-6:00pm
We have a large sports hall and an outside multi-use court where we will do a range of sports, such as football, basketball and badminton. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy sports and would be happy to help run some sports activities in our youth sessions.
You can also volunteer in the other youth club activities that we offer, including arts, games and well-being activities.
Our youth sessions are all in the evenings. Volunteers and staff arrive 30 minutes before and stay afterwards to debrief and discuss the session.
You will require a DBS check for this role, which will be fully paid for by us.
Applicants must be aged 16 or over.
Mileage or public transport expenses are paid.
As part of volunteer, you will also be required to complete free training courses.
You can volunteer once a week or more, depending on your availability.
