Volunteer Till Assistant – Uckfield Heritage

Formerly known as the Uckfield & District Preservation Society (UDPS), Uckfield Heritage is a charitable organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting the rich history and environment of Uckfield and the surrounding area in East Sussex. Established in 1968, our mission is to:

  • Safeguard Uckfield’s heritage: This includes iconic landmarks like the Nutley Windmill, a restored example of a working Sussex smock windmill.
  • Foster appreciation for local history: We organise talks, events, and educational programs to bring Uckfield’s past to life.
  • Champion the local environment: Uckfield Heritage advocates for the preservation of the natural beauty and green spaces around Uckfield – For example the Uckfield Millenium Green.

We are looking for a volunteer till assistant to help out in our Uckfield shop in Bell Walk. No experience is necessary for this position, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilties include operating the till, handling cash, and providing good customer service.

This will be on Saturday mornings between 9am and 1pm, though there is some flexibility to these times.

For only a little of your time each week, you’ll be making a big difference in helping us to raise funds for our work in and around Uckfield.
