For over 30 years, Wealden Volunteering has been helping people make a difference in their communities.
Originally established as Uckfield Volunteer Centre, our award-winning organisation has grown significantly and now supports volunteering across a much wider area. In 2024, we became Wealden Volunteering to reflect that growth and our commitment to communities throughout Wealden.
Our main role is connecting people who want to volunteer with local charities, community groups, and good causes that need their skills, enthusiasm, and time. We also provide a range of community services, including local information, photocopying and laminating, hearing aid batteries, and support for local voluntary organisations through networking events, advice, and training.
Everything we do is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers who share a passion for helping others and strengthening local communities.
About this opportunity
Could you spare a few hours a week to help people find rewarding volunteering opportunities?
We’re looking for friendly, organised, and enthusiastic volunteers to join our welcoming office team in Uckfield. Whether you’re retired, working part-time, studying, gaining experience, or simply looking to give something back, we’d love to hear from you.
No previous experience is required. Full training and support will be provided, including help with IT systems if needed. The most important qualities are a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help people. Basic computer skills would be an advantage but are not essential.
As an Office Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting local volunteering. Tasks may include:
- Helping match volunteers with suitable roles
- Processing volunteer enquiries and applications
- Updating information on our CRM system
- Creating displays and promotional materials
- Welcoming visitors and answering enquiries
- Providing general administrative support
There is plenty of variety, and we will work with you to find tasks that match your interests, skills, and confidence. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, develop valuable experience, learn new skills, and make a real difference in your community.
