Befriending Volunteer – FRow Friends

About this organisation
We are the befriending group for Forest Row matching volunteer befrienders to older people who would like some regular company. Our befrienders try to pop in once a week for a cup of tea, a chat, maybe a game or puzzle or a local trip outside.
About this opportunity
Befriending offers supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders. The results of befriending can be very significant. Befriending often provides people with a new direction in life, opens up a range of activities and leads to increased self-esteem and self confidence.
We are always on the lookout for people to get involved in our befriending scheme.
Ideally volunteer befrienders will be able to drive, as some of our members live rurally, but this is not a requirement. The main requirement is having a warm personality and an interest in other people!
A DBS check will be needed due to the nature of the role, however we will arrange this on your behalf.
This role is a fantastic way to make a huge difference in our community with those who are at risk of becoming isolated. By giving a little of your time as a befriender, you can help enrich their lives just by being someone to talk to.
