Client Contact Team Member – Crowborough Foodbank

About this organisation
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
About this opportunity
The Crowborough FoodBank are looking for volunteers to make calls to our households on a Thursday morning. This is an important role, as volunteers guide them through our process, giving choices on food options and where applicable suggesting other support they might also access. Anyone can find themselves in food crisis and our caring phone calls reassure that help is at hand.
No previous experience is necessary.

- Provide an opportunity to listen and support (not advise) clients.
- Update clients with information provided by the Crowborough Foodbank eg SE Water rebates, free transport to vaccination centres, census support etc.
