MAYFACS supports the community of Mayfield and Five Ashes with a clear objective to help alleviate loneliness and isolation by providing a range of activities for all ages, providing support and signposting to other organisations. We are striving to make our community an inclusive and welcoming community, supporting one another, creating opportunities and working together for the benefit of all who live and work within our boundaries. MAYFACS relies on the incredible support of our volunteers who underpin all that we do to improve the health and wellbeing of all our community.
About this opportunity
As a Volunteer Minibus Driver you become part of our wonderful MAYFACS Volunteering team.
Our team of voluntary minibus drivers help people from the local community to go out on a variety of trips. Passengers can be all ages and as a volunteer you visit a wide range of local destinations. It’s a great way to see local attractions and amenities, and to meet new people.
As a volunteer you choose the dates that you can be available to drive. Currently we have a Lunch Club on the first Tuesday of the month, where you have your lunch provided; Friday Films (once per month) where you can stay to watch the film and have interval refreshments; and monthly trips usually taking place on a Thursday, departing from Mayfield between 9-10am and returning around 4pm.
Mini Bus Training will be given, but you will need to have an existing full driving licence. There is an age restriction of only being open to anyone under 70, which is due to insurance purposes.
