Music Maker Youth Work Volunteer – Heathfield Youth Hub

We are looking for ‘Music Makers’ to join our volunteer team. We would like to facilitate jamming sessions for young people to play and try out new instruments. You may have experience teaching music, know how to play an instrument or be able to facilitate workshops, bands or singing groups. If you are enthusiastic about music, you will be able to utilise our new music room for young people to its full potential. This role will begin in August/September and take place in the evenings. A DBS check is required for this role which we will pay for. Applicants must be aged 16 or over. We will reimburse your travel expenses whether your own vehicle or public transportation. Volunteer Youth Work Assistant for SEND Sessions – Youth Hub East Sussex

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the running of youth sessions for young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). This session occurs once a week and is for young people aged 13 – 19 years old. Each week we complete different activities such as cooking, arts and crafts and sports. We are a safe space for young people to make new friends, seek support and advice and try new things. You may be someone with previous experience of working with young people, working with people with SEND, or you might be looking to gain a valuable insight into youth work. You may have a skill or profession that you can teach our young people such as woodwork, or you may have some time available where you would like to give back to your local community. Volunteers can be 16+ and will need to complete a DBS check with us. We are looking for volunteers who are eager to make a significant difference to the lives of young people.

You may be someone with previous experience of working with young people, working in LBGTQ+ spaces, or you might be looking to gain a valuable insight into youth work. Young Carer Activities Volunteer – Care for the Carers

Help provide a supportive, safe, fun environment for young carers at a monthly young carers group on Tuesday evenings in Eastbourne. Support activity days during the school holidays (depending on availability). Days out include trips to the zoo, paintballing and outdoor adventure activities. The role will involve: Attending monthly club for young carers aged 8-17 Providing support for activities at the club such as games, sports, arts and crafts Providing general supervision of children and young people Helping to set up and clear away before and after the group.
