Online Seller – Uckfield Heritage

About this organisation

Uckfield Heritage (formerly the Uckfield and District Preservation Society) was founded in 1968, initially to protect and preserve Nutley Windmill and to encourage interest in the local history and environment of the parishes around Uckfield in East Sussex.

In 2007 they opened their Charity shop in Uckfield High Street to help generate funds to promote the works of the Society. In November 2023 their Charity shop relocated to larger premises at 6-7 Bell Walk, Uckfield.

Uckfield Heritage are looking for volunteers to conduct online sales via ebay and social media, as well as expanding their reach on social media.

Any applicants will need to be IT literate, and comfortable selling items online. An understanding of social media sales would be essential. The volunteer would need to liaise with the shop managers in terms of which items were to be sold, and co-operate with any promotions or similar being run by the shop.

Hours are by arrangement. The shop is open 6 days a week, 9-00 to 4-00. Volunteers would work hours convenient to them. This role could be carried out from within the shop during shop hours, or in the evenings/weekends. These arrangements would be discussed with the shop managers before the volunteer starts.

It would also be useful to have people who could cover for illness or holidays, sometimes at short notice. They are happy to talk to potential volunteers about how their available time can be used.
