Secretary – Green Transition Crowborough

About this organisation
Green Transition Crowborough is a community-led group encouraging local action on climate change and sustainability.
We’re a friendly mix of eco-enthusiasts who care deeply about Crowborough and believe that small, everyday actions can add up to meaningful change.
Our work is guided by the values, principles and example of the Transition Network. https://transitionnetwork.org/
Founded in September 2021, GTC brought together several existing local groups. Our community has expanded and our groups now include the Repair Cafe, the Community Pantry, Community Orchard, Wildlife, Artytime Scrapstore and more.
About this opportunity
Green Transition Crowborough (GTC) is effectively an ‘umbrella’ organisation, bringing together charity groups. We have a Coordination Committee with representatives from all of our various parts, who meet a minimum of 6 times per year, as a Committee, to organise events, communications and initiatives that are intended to increase awareness of us, and to encourage more people to actively do what they can to improve sustainability.
We are seeking a volunteer to perform the role of Secretary of GTC, which primarily involves creating agendas, taking and producing minutes, and assisting with the management GTC wide initiatives that encompass one or more of our groups.
We meet in the evenings, either in person at a location in Crowborough, or on Zoom.
No DBS check is required for this role, and it is open to anyone aged 18 or over. Any applicants will need to have access to a computer, and be happy to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
