Volunteer Workers – Bluebell Railway Trust

Join the Bluebell Railway Trust Team – Help Keep Steam Alive! The Bluebell Railway Trust is at the heart of the Bluebell Railway. As a registered charity, its mission is to preserve and restore our heritage. From rebuilding historic locomotives to refurbishing stations like Horsted Keynes, the Trust plays a vital role in ensuring the railway’s future. It also owns locomotives and rolling stock and operates key attractions, including the Museum and SteamWorks at Sheffield Park Station. However, maintaining this incredible legacy is a challenging yet rewarding task—and we need skilled, passionate people to help make it happen. Without the Trust, the future of the Bluebell Railway would be uncertain. How You Can Help If you share our passion for heritage, we invite you to join our dedicated team. We are looking for individuals with a wide range of skills, including: • Accountants – to manage the charity’s complex finances • Legal experts – to assist with legacy management • Marketing & sales professionals – to promote the Trust and boost fundraising • Museum Front of House – to help with visitor engagement and front-of-house roles • General management & administration – to oversee key operations of the Trust Whatever your expertise, there’s a place for you in this important and exciting team.

Office Volunteer – Wealden Volunteering

Currently at Wealden Volunteering we are looking for additional friendly faces in our Uckfield office. It doesn’t matter how old you are, we have a complete range of ages in our office. You don’t need to have specialized skills though they’re always welcome. Our office procedures will be taught to anyone joining us, as will any IT skills to get you up and running should you require them. All you need is a willingness to help people. The responsibilities of our office volunteers vary, as we take on tasks best suited to each of us; such as processing volunteer applications, putting together displays or placing opportunities on our website, though we all chip in with greeting any visitors and assisting them with whatever requests or queries they have.  There are many different roles at the Centre so let us know what you are comfortable doing or what you would like to learn as this can provide a great way of gaining experience.

Volunteer Website Designer – Green Transition Crowborough

We are recruiting for a volunteer to take charge of our website, which was developed fairly early on in our lifetime, but now needs a revamp in line with how our organisation has evolved and developed. The start point would be having a discussion with each of our relevant parts to determine their own system requirements. The next action would be to assess whether our existing Wordpress site is sufficient for the job, and then it would mean either converting to another platform, or enhancing our existing one. There are no fixed or rigid timescales associated with this project. We anticipate that most of the investigation, analysis, design and implementation can be delivered remotely, however we would be eager to meet up, to ensure that we have the opportunity to really be clear about who we are and what we want to project. Should this require travel, we would be happy to cover mileage expenses.
