Primary School Governor – Harlands Community Primary & Nursery School

They are looking to recruit a co-opted governor. As members of the Full Board of Governors, governors work closely with the headteacher, supporting them and challenging them. The role will include: Attending governing board meetings, these normally take place around six times a year and are normally held outside school hours in the early evening. Looking at information and evidence on the school’s progress and discussing with school leaders. Visiting the school to see plans working in practice, and listening to the views of staff, pupils and parents. Governors need to be committed, have the inquisitiveness to question and analyse, and the willingness to learn. They need good interpersonal skills, an appropriate level of literacy and be sufficiently numerate to understand basic data. It is preferable if any applicants do not have children/grandchildren at the school - as they already have parent elected governors and are looking for a balanced mix.
