Volunteer Relief Driver – VIEW Craft

VIEW Craft are looking for a relief driver to cover any absences of their regular drivers. Their craft sessions run on a Tuesday morning from 10am until 12pm during school term time. These take place at Herstmonceux Village Hall. Any members requiring a lift will need to be collected from their homes and taken to the village hall, drivers are then welcome to stay for the 2 hours if they wish, or come back for the end of the session for the return journey. Those who choose to wait at the hall, tea and coffee is provided, and if you'd like you're welcome to help with the session as a volunteer, as multiple roles are available. Members can live anywhere within the Wealden area. Drivers will undergo a DBS check, and are asked to check that their car insurance covers voluntary driving. They need to ensure that their car is kept in good working order. In some cases a member may need to transport a walking aid or guide dog with them.

Events Volunteer – Wealden Volunteering

We are currently seeking volunteers to help out at events. Wealden Volunteering appear at all kinds of events throughout the year, making sure we have a visible presence in the community to help people get into volunteering, and find the right opportunity to give their time for. At events our volunteers are on hand to answer any questions the public may have, offering a friendly introduction to their own path into volunteering, as well as any local information they may require. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, where you give the hours you're able to. Whether you can help set up or take down our stall, or man it during the day, any kind of help is welcome. Any applicants will need to be comfortable interacting with the public, and be able to offer a positive and welcoming attitude. You will be given any training required, and we always have multiple volunteers at any one time so you won't be on your own. Events such as our Networking Lunches or Job/Volunteer Fairs take place during the week, whereas larger events tend to be hosted at weekends. There is no commitment to assist with every event, it may be you're only able to help during the holidays or visa versa, however we would ask that any volunteers are able to help at a reasonable number.

You will work as a member of an enthusiastic Trustee Board comprising professionals from several fields. As well as developing experience of the voluntary sector and in information and advice-giving, you will be able to support and mentor their Chief Executive. You’ll have access to training opportunities through central Citizens Advice and you can help to make a real difference in your community. Respite for Healthcare Volunteer – Association of Carers

A Respite for Healthcare Volunteer spends time with a cared for individual, allowing their carer to attend their healthcare appointments. Notice of any appointments is usually given a week in advance, and volunteers will be briefed on what the interests are of the individual they will attend. This role will suit someone who is good at communicating and listening, but also confident in a crisis should one arise. It's hours are adhoc, providing short term cover. A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.

Volunteer Drivers assist by transporting both volunteers who can't drive or don't have access to a vehicle to the carer's home and back again, and carer's to appointments or a day activity. Any applicants will require their own vehicle and a full clean driver's licence. Having a good knowledge of local roads and routes, and being a good communicator will also benefit anyone in this role. Volunteers decide the area they can help out in, as well as the hours they are available for. A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Talk and Support Volunteer – Association of Carers

This role involves phoning a carer you will be matched with, and having a conversation of roughly 30 minutes, providing an outlet for the carer to discuss their position in confidence. These conversations will take place on a regular basis, gradually reducing in frequency over a 6 month period. The opportunity is perfect for anyone with a background as a carer, or an empathetic individual who is a good listener. A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.

Crowdfunding Organiser – Artytime

Artytime are looking for a volunteer with crowdfunding experience to conduct the campaign for their upcoming planned expansion of the scrapstore. This expansion will provide workshop and studio space, and double up as a youth centre in the evenings. Any applicants will need experience with social media, as promoting any community fundraising initiatives via social media will be key. This role is remote, and can be carried out from home as and when it suits you so it is extremely flexible. There will be required meetings with the manager and project leader, but these can be either face to face or via zoom online. Any agreed upon out of pocket expenses will be covered by Artytime.
