We are seeking a Grant Writer to assist our organisation with researching, writing, and submitting proposals to secure funding for the growth and development of Scouting across the local area. You'll become part of a team working together to support the role of a Lead Growth Worker, and through your efforts you'll be helping to enable Ashdown Scouts to continue its important work.
This role would be carried out upstairs in their shop in Bell Walk, Uckfield. Working with other volunteers, you would help with sorting goods donated by members of the public and preparing them for sale in the shop. The role would not require contact with customers or members of the public. If you have sales or retail experience, that would be useful, but it is not a requirement.
Do you have experience constructing model kits? This can be with plastic model kits, scratch-building, or general woodworking experience. As part of creating our museum experience, we are seeking model maker volunteers to help construct an array of aviation models to go on display. This is a relaxed position where you'll be guided through the process of what we're looking to build, before using your own initiative to work on an item.
Our website is ready for a refresh to help keep our charity up to date and easy to learn about online. In order to limit costs we are constructing a new website utilising the IONOS web designer, and are seeking someone with a flair for web design to help create us a professional presence online.
This role involves teaching basic IT skills, and guiding carers who aren't quite as confident at using a computer and/or the internet through the actions they require. This can be online shopping or banking, using a program to call over the internet, helping to set up an NHS online account or maybe email address
Our Stock Preparation Volunteers always enjoy being part of our shop teams; making new friends and helping the charity to maximise the income from the amazing items people donate to us.
The Distribution Centre is where all of the stock heading for sale either online or to the hospices' shops is sorted. Duties for volunteers vary from shift to shift with tasks such as sorting items, packaging for distribution, maintaining the warehouse, and testing electronic devices. You won't be required to interact with the general public but will be working within a team.
