Due to growing numbers, our Time for Tea & Friends group is looking for volunteers to assist in running sessions. It's a relaxed and fun time, with volunteers helping out by serving sandwiches and cakes to guests whilst having a chat. The group meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month, from 11.30am to 2.45pm, and if interested there are other sessions available. A DBS check is required for this role, however Ridgewood Village Hall will cover this.
Join the Bluebell Railway Fundraising & Trust Support Team (Voluntary Role). The Bluebell Railway is one of the UK’s leading heritage railways, dedicated to preserving the past for future generations. A vital part of this work is fundraising – ensuring we have the resources to maintain, restore, and grow our railway. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our Funding Team and Bluebell Railway Trust support team. About the Role We are developing a new Funding Strategy, which will help us decide what to apply for, where, and when. To make this happen, we need people who can assist with: • Drafting and developing funding applications • Researching data and opportunities • Managing and monitoring grant applications In addition, the Bluebell Railway Trust carries out important day-to-day work, such as liaising with donors, handling legacies, and managing accounts. We are also looking for volunteers with skills in: • Administration • Bookkeeping What We’re Looking For We would love to hear from you if you have experience in any of the following: • Grant application writing • Business bid development or tendering • Project research and administration • General administration or bookkeeping
There's no minimum or maximum number of volunteers needed for this role, the more, the merrier. • Assisting with fundraising events, from idea generation, organisation and help on the day or at the event itself. What this would involve: Suggesting fun event ideas like a sponsored walk, quiz night, or bake sale Booking venues, contacting suppliers, creating posters or invitations Setting up tables, welcoming guests, managing stalls, or selling raffle tickets on the day • Providing support to local groups with their fundraising efforts. What this would involve: Advising a school that wants to do a dress-up day for donations Helping a local business run a coffee morning fundraiser Providing them with banners, leaflets, or donation buckets and showing how to use them • Act as a representative on behalf of Taylor-Made Dreams at charity or community organised events. What this would involve: Wearing branded clothes and chatting to people about what Taylor-Made Dreams does Setting up an information stand and answering questions Collecting donations or giving a short talk about the charity’s mission

We are currently seeking volunteers to help out at events. Wealden Volunteering appear at all kinds of events throughout the year, making sure we have a visible presence in the community to help people get into volunteering, and find the right opportunity to give their time for. At events our volunteers are on hand to answer any questions the public may have, offering a friendly introduction to their own path into volunteering, as well as any local information they may require. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, where you give the hours you're able to. Whether you can help set up or take down our stall, or man it during the day, any kind of help is welcome. Any applicants will need to be comfortable interacting with the public, and be able to offer a positive and welcoming attitude. You will be given any training required, and we always have multiple volunteers at any one time so you won't be on your own. Events such as our Networking Lunches or Job/Volunteer Fairs take place during the week, whereas larger events tend to be hosted at weekends. There is no commitment to assist with every event, it may be you're only able to help during the holidays or visa versa, however we would ask that any volunteers are able to help at a reasonable number.
