Baking and Cooking Youth Work Volunteer – Heathfield Youth Hub

We are looking for Bakers and Cooks to join our volunteer team. A key part of our youth work curriculum is healthy eating, and at youth sessions young people enjoy cooking meals and baking sweet treats. You would help the young people to learn vital cooking skills and recipes that show healthy and sustainable living. You may also volunteer in the other activities that we offer, including sports, games and well-being activities. Sessions are due to start in August / September, and take place in the evenings. You can volunteer once a week or more depending on your availability. A DBS check is required for this role which will be fully paid for by us. Applicants must be aged 16 or over. Creative Arts Youth Work Volunteer – Heathfield Youth Hub

We are looking for ‘Creative Arts Facilitators’ to join our volunteer team. You may be an artist working with paint, fabric, wood or other materials who can create engaging activities for young people who are interested in art. You may also volunteer in the other activities that we offer, including sports, games, baking and well-being activities. Our youth sessions are all in the evenings, you may volunteer once a week or more or less often, depending on your availability. You will require a DBS check for this role which will be fully paid for by us. Applicants must be aged 16 or over. Mileage or public transport expenses are paid. Music Maker Youth Work Volunteer – Heathfield Youth Hub

We are looking for ‘Music Makers’ to join our volunteer team. We would like to facilitate jamming sessions for young people to play and try out new instruments. You may have experience teaching music, know how to play an instrument or be able to facilitate workshops, bands or singing groups. If you are enthusiastic about music, you will be able to utilise our new music room for young people to its full potential. This role will begin in August/September and take place in the evenings. A DBS check is required for this role which we will pay for. Applicants must be aged 16 or over. We will reimburse your travel expenses whether your own vehicle or public transportation. Governor – Woodlands Federation Governing Board

Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of children? Governors make a vital contribution to the success of our schools. All that is needed is commitment, a willingness to be part of a team and an ability to ask questions! Woodlands Federation Governing Board is made up of governors from all walks of life, with a range of different backgrounds, skills and experiences, but they all work together for the benefit of the schools in the federation. The full Governing Board meets six to eight times per year during term time, on a Wednesday at 5.00pm for up to 2 hours - these meetings are face to face, but governors can also join remotely. Governors also use their identified skills and expertise in the Finance Committee and in working groups, which are created from time to time, these have a specific focus and report back to the full Governing Board.

Events Volunteer – Wealden Volunteering

We are currently seeking volunteers to help out at events. Wealden Volunteering appear at all kinds of events throughout the year, making sure we have a visible presence in the community to help people get into volunteering, and find the right opportunity to give their time for. At events our volunteers are on hand to answer any questions the public may have, offering a friendly introduction to their own path into volunteering, as well as any local information they may require. It's a very relaxed atmosphere, where you give the hours you're able to. Whether you can help set up or take down our stall, or man it during the day, any kind of help is welcome. Any applicants will need to be comfortable interacting with the public, and be able to offer a positive and welcoming attitude. You will be given any training required, and we always have multiple volunteers at any one time so you won't be on your own. Events such as our Networking Lunches or Job/Volunteer Fairs take place during the week, whereas larger events tend to be hosted at weekends. There is no commitment to assist with every event, it may be you're only able to help during the holidays or visa versa, however we would ask that any volunteers are able to help at a reasonable number.

Office Volunteer – Wealden Volunteering

Currently at Wealden Volunteering we are looking for additional friendly faces in our Uckfield office. It doesn’t matter how old you are, we have a complete range of ages in our office. You don’t need to have specialized skills though they’re always welcome. Our office procedures will be taught to anyone joining us, as will any IT skills to get you up and running should you require them. All you need is a willingness to help people. The responsibilities of our office volunteers vary, as we take on tasks best suited to each of us; such as processing volunteer applications, putting together displays or placing opportunities on our website, though we all chip in with greeting any visitors and assisting them with whatever requests or queries they have.  There are many different roles at the Centre so let us know what you are comfortable doing or what you would like to learn as this can provide a great way of gaining experience.

Respite for Healthcare Volunteer – Association of Carers

A Respite for Healthcare Volunteer spends time with a cared for individual, allowing their carer to attend their healthcare appointments. Notice of any appointments is usually given a week in advance, and volunteers will be briefed on what the interests are of the individual they will attend. This role will suit someone who is good at communicating and listening, but also confident in a crisis should one arise. It's hours are adhoc, providing short term cover. A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.

Volunteer Driver – Association of Carers

Volunteer Drivers assist by transporting both volunteers who can't drive or don't have access to a vehicle to the carer's home and back again, and carer's to appointments or a day activity. Any applicants will require their own vehicle and a full clean driver's licence. Having a good knowledge of local roads and routes, and being a good communicator will also benefit anyone in this role. Volunteers decide the area they can help out in, as well as the hours they are available for. A DBS check is required, which the Association of Carers will apply for on your behalf. Only those aged 18 or over are suitable. Mileage and expenses are paid for. Full training will be given.
