Volunteers needed to welcome those using the centre, taking coats, and settling the service user area of the centre. You'll be befriending, supporting and helping those using the centre to engage in activities and conversation, and provide the Day Centre Coordinator with practical help to ensure the smooth running of the day.
Volunteers needed to help with providing a supportive, safe, fun environment for young carers at a monthly young carers group on Tuesday evenings in Eastbourne. The role will involve supporting activities (games, sports, arts and crafts etc), supervising children and young people, and helping to set up and clear away before and after the group.
They are looking for any volunteers who can perform general maintenance, and volunteers specifically for electrical appliances. They are also looking for a sharpening expert for any tools brought in. Workshops take place on the 4th Saturday of the month, and typically run from 9:30am til 12pm. Tea and coffee and homemade cakes are provided during sessions.
Volunteers needed to assist in the setup and running of a weekly Nibbles and Natter session, part of a local Warm Spaces initiative. Duties include setting up and putting away tables and chairs, serving tea, coffee, soup and cake as well as interacting with the attendees, helping with signposting to other services if necessary. This is an important role in spreading awareness of what the charity does and fundraising throughout the communities in East Sussex. This role will suit someone who is friendly and engaging, who enjoys meeting new people and taking on a variety of tasks as part of a team.
This role covers a variety of tasks; attending local events, helping both with the setting up and taking down of stalls, bucket collections, and generally representing East Sussex Hearing. You’ll also be involved in sourcing and collecting prizes donated by individuals and local organisations for use at stalls.
