Do you have experience constructing model kits? This can be with plastic model kits, scratch-building, or general woodworking experience. As part of creating our museum experience, we are seeking model maker volunteers to help construct an array of aviation models to go on display. This is a relaxed position where you'll be guided through the process of what we're looking to build, before using your own initiative to work on an item.
We are looking for volunteers to help with fundraising and social activities, by attending events and engaging with the public about the work we do. Fundraising at events we attend can be in many forms; running a classic tombola, or a raffle for example, but we are open to ideas from volunteers about other methods to generate funds, especially those which engage the public and inspire them to learn about civil aviation history.
We are only a small team of volunteers and we are looking for some extra committee members with past charity experience to join us to help build the charity and raise the funds we need to build our museum and guide us in the right direction. In terms of committee meetings we meet once every two weeks on a Thursday at the Grenadier pub in Hailsham.
The role involves assisting with an activity you're familiar with that would help the student to learn new skills, enhance creative abilities or learn new creative abilities, and participate in rewarding activities. We would also be open to running other activities volunteers are knowledgeable about that would be beneficial to students.
The responsibilities of our office volunteers vary, as we take on tasks best suited to each of us; processing volunteer applications, creating displays or placing opportunities on our website, though we all chip in with greeting any visitors and assisting them with whatever requests or queries they have. There are many different roles at the Centre so let us know what you are comfortable doing or what you would like to learn as this can provide a way of gaining experience.
As part of our friendly team, you will attend local groups and community activities, offering information, guidance, and signposting to relevant services, support organisations, and community groups. You may also help people complete a range of forms, including Attendance Allowance applications and other benefit-related paperwork, giving them the confidence and support they need to access available help.

We are seeking a volunteer bus driver to support our charity by driving our minibus to collect children from a local SEND specialist school during term time. The role operates Monday to Thursday (flexible days) from approximately 2:30pm to 4:00pm. This is an ongoing/permanent volunteer position rather than an ad hoc role, although flexibility can be discussed.
